The Capacity Manager

As with all processes, it is a good idea to have a dedicated individual responsible for this activity. In this case, it would be the Capacity Manager.

Role of a Capacity Manager:

The Capacity Manager is responsible for the process. However, the scope is broad and may therefore be split between two or more capacity analysts, where one is responsible for maintaining a dialogue with business representatives and the Service Level Manager to identify new and changing business requirements, and another is likely to fulfill the more technical role of analyzing the current and predicted load on performance levels (e.g. through modeling techniques).
