Purpose and Objectives of Knowledge Management


In the previous chapter, we learnt what Knowledge Management is. In this chapter, let us learn the Purpose and Objectives of the same.

Purpose of Knowledge Management:

The purpose of Knowledge Management is to ensure that the right person has the right knowledge at the right time to enable them to make sensible decisions about courses of action.

Objectives of Knowledge Management:

The objectives are to provide:
• More efficient services with improved quality, increased satisfaction and reduced cost
• A clear and common understanding of the value provided by services and how that value is realized
• Relevant information on usage, resource consumption, constraints and difficulties that is always available.
