Role of a Change Manager

The Change Manager is probably one of the most important and high profile positions in any IT organization. Since the whole service/engagement can be affected adversely by wrong change decisions, the onus is on this individual to ensure that changes are handled in the best way possible with minimal impact to the overall IT service.

The primary responsibilities of a Change Manager are:
• Managing the quality, review, assessment and approval of RFCs
• Chairing the CAB Meetings
• Acting as key liaison between initiators and approvers of changes
